Tour du Mont Blanc
160KM through the mountains of France, Switzerland & Italy circling Mont Blanc. Carrying the names of those affected by cancer and raising for 2 charities.
Tour du Mont Blanc 2025: 160KM, 30,000ft of “why am I doing this again?”
My 2025 Tour du Mont Blanc was nothing short of epic. 160KM across France, Switzerland, and Italy, with a modest 30,000ft of uphill (give or take a small mountain).
This was my second TMB rodeo—the first being 2023—and let me tell you, second time’s the charm. Knowing some of the route meant I could plan ahead, pace myself better, and, most importantly, indulge in a few strategic cake-and-Red Bull stops at the refuges. Priorities, right?
I’ll eventually write a longer, more coherent post once I’ve sorted my photos and memory from the blur of hills, sweat, and sugar. But for now, a few highlights:
Cheeky Shorts Alert: My infamous Check Ya Balls shorts made their debut on the TMB, and yes—they caused quite the stir. A surprising number of hikers (mostly American and all ladies, funnily enough) insisted on photos. Was it the shorts or my ultra-running posterior they were after? Either way, the conversation—and the important message behind them—was getting out there loud and proud.
UTMB Vibes: I ran straight to the UTMB gantry in Chamonix during UTMB week to soak up the atmosphere. Surprise bonus: I bumped into Loyd and Liga from Run4Adventure. Loyd interviewed me, we chatted about the run and cancer, and finishing with them gave me a massive emotional boost after grinding through the mountains.
All said and done, this run pushed my fundraising total to around £12,000. Not bad for a few days of mountain torture (and cake).
