Run for the Glaze - May 9th

Run for the Glaze - May 9th. A 50K across London visiting 20 Krispy Kreme shops

Run for the Glaze returns to London on May 9th, 2026, as endurance runner Andy takes on a remarkable ultra-distance challenge through the capital. Covering more than 50 kilometres, longer than the London Marathon, the run will see Hood travel across the city, stopping at 20 Krispy Kreme locations along the way. The route, which starts and finishes on Oxford Street, passes through major areas including Baker Street, Canary Wharf, and Clapham, combining endurance running with the fun and novelty of doughnut stops.

Unlike traditional races, the run takes place on open roads with no closures, meaning Andy must contend with crowds, traffic, and constant stop-start conditions that add to the physical and mental challenge. However, the event is about far more than distance or spectacle. Created by Andy in 2024, Run for the Glaze was inspired by his own experience with testicular cancer and aims to raise awareness while encouraging early self-checks.

This year, the run supports ChemoHero, raising funds for “Boxes of Kindness” for patients starting chemotherapy. With donations matched by Krispy Kreme, the event blends community spirit, a meaningful cause, and a light-hearted love of doughnuts into one powerful challenge.

Andy will be joined by members of the Krispy Kreme team at various points along the route, bringing extra energy and support throughout the day. There will be live streams so supporters can follow the journey in real time, along with exciting customer giveaways, including hidden gift cards in selected stores that can be redeemed for free doughnuts and a hot drink. Fans are also encouraged to spot Andy on the run, grab a photo, and ask for a free doughnut voucher. Altogether, it promises to be a high-energy, feel-good day packed with fun, community spirit, and plenty of doughnuts.
